On May 8, 2025 from 12:00 to 19:00 (SAST) AgriLuxe Marketing, in partnership with FANRPAN, The Univeristy of Johannesburg, and The University of the West Indies, will convene an inaugural seminar series: “Indigenous and Neglected Crops: A Gateway to Sustainable Tourism and Growth in Africa and the Caribbean“. The overall goal of the seminar, which will be take place virtually and in-person, is to increase awareness, stakeholder buy-in, and identify investment opportunities for an African-Caribbean WILD Tourism Route initiative.
Given increasing trends in tourism markets for local, healthy, “authentic” culinary and cultural experiences, the tourism route initiative targets indigenous and neglected crops bundled with the regions’ cultural and creative assets to promote Africa and the Caribbean as sustainable and unique wellness, culinary, cultural meccas for both travellers and investors.
